El Paso vein treatment

There are several tested-and-tried treatments for vein disease that your doctor or vein specialist can use on you. Finding the most suitable for you, however, will depend on your goals and expectations, your budget, and the severity of your condition.

Whichever vein disease you have, your treatment is very unlikely to be outside these options:

  • Sclerotherapy
  • Laser surgeries
  • Radiofrequency and laser energy
  • High ligation and vein stripping
  • Ambulatory Phlebectomy
  • Endoscopic vein surgery

Sclerotherapy is one of the most popular treatments for varicose veins. It involves the varicose vein being injected with a saline solution, which irritates the linings of the vein’s walls causing it close and die.

Laser surgery

In laser surgery, the vein specialist delivers strong bursts of laser light into the affected vein causing the vein to close and fade away. Unlike traditional surgery, laser surgeries do not make use of scalpels or needles to access the vein.

Radiofrequency and laser energy

This procedure involves the use of a thin tool called a catheter to heat the inside of the varicose or spider vein. The catheter is inserted in the vein then heated using laser or radiofrequency energy. It destroys the vein and causes it to collapse when it is pulled out.

High ligation and vein stripping

In vein stripping, incisions are made along the affected vein. It is through these incisions that the vein is pulled out in bits.

This is a minor surgery that is mostly performed on an outpatient basis in Desert Vein Center.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Ambulatory phlebectomy also involves the use of incisions to pull out small varicose veins and spider veins.

Endoscopic vein surgery

Endoscopic surgery is performed as a last resort for vein diseases that have advanced symptoms such as leg ulcers. In it, a diminutive camera is inserted in the vein to visualize the varicose veins before they can be removed through incisions.
